Why Superflex Dramatically Changes QB Values

In a standard single-QB dynasty league, there are 12 starting QB slots in a 12-team league. Elite QBs are valuable but not irreplaceable — if you miss on the top tier, there are serviceable options below.

In a superflex league, that same 12-team league has 24 starting QB slots. Every franchise needs two quarterbacks who can start. This doubles demand for elite QBs overnight and creates a dramatic scarcity premium at the position.

The math behind the superflex premium

The value difference you see in the table above reflects real trade data from dynasty leagues. When managers in superflex leagues trade for QBs, they consistently pay more — because they have to. A manager without a reliable QB2 is structurally disadvantaged every week.

The premium is largest for elite QBs (Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson) because they anchor superflex rosters as both the QB1 and the insurance policy. The premium shrinks for mid-tier QBs because they're more replaceable — there are enough serviceable QB2s in a 12-team league that the scarcity pressure eases.

How to use superflex premiums in trades

If you're trading a QB from a 1QB league into a superflex league (or vice versa), the values shown here are your starting point. Never use generic dynasty values for QB trades in superflex — you'll either massively overpay or massively underpay.

If you're in a superflex league and another manager doesn't understand the format premium, you can exploit that gap in trade negotiations. A manager who thinks their QB is worth 4,200 points (1QB value) when you know he's worth 6,800 (superflex value) is leaving value on the table.

Startup draft strategy in superflex

In superflex startup drafts, the first two rounds are almost entirely quarterbacks. Don't fight this — join it. Missing the top QB tier in a superflex startup means spending the rest of the draft recovering at the most important position.

The calculator above shows you exactly which QBs have the highest superflex premiums — those are the players to prioritize in superflex startup drafts and the hardest to acquire in trades.
