How to Use the Dynasty Startup Draft Board

A startup draft is where dynasty leagues begin — every manager drafts their entire roster from scratch, usually in a snake format over 20-30 rounds. Unlike redraft, startup draft order matters enormously because you're building a roster you'll manage for years.

Setting up the board

Before your draft starts, configure the format settings to match your league — superflex vs 1QB, TEP bonus, PPR, and team count. These settings dramatically affect player values. A quarterback worth 5,800 in superflex might be worth 3,200 in a 1QB league. Get the format right first.

Enter your draft position (1 through your team count) so the board can highlight when it's your turn in the snake.

During the draft

As each pick is made — by any team, not just yours — click "Draft" on that player to remove them from the available pool. The board tracks who's gone and shows you the best remaining value at every position in real time. The snake draft tracker shows the current pick number and alerts you when your turn is coming up.

Value-based drafting in dynasty

Dynasty startup drafts reward patient, value-based drafting over chasing names. The tier separators on the board show natural value drop-offs — the gap between Elite and Franchise tier players is enormous, but the gap between picks 40-60 is often minimal. Identify the tiers and draft accordingly rather than reaching for specific players.

TEP and superflex startup strategy

In superflex leagues, the first two rounds are almost entirely quarterbacks. Elite QBs are the scarcest commodity in a superflex startup — missing the top tier means spending the rest of the draft catching up at the position.

In TEP leagues, elite tight ends are similarly scarce. Travis Kelce-tier TEs carry first-round value in 1.5+ TEP formats. Don't let them slide assuming they'll come back around.
