How to Grade Your Dynasty Roster

A dynasty roster grade gives you an objective snapshot of where your team stands — not just in value, but in age curve health, positional balance, and win-now vs long-term potential. Most managers have a gut feeling about their team. This tool gives you the data behind that feeling.

What Each Grade Means

A grade (Elite): Above-average total value, healthy age distribution with players in or approaching their prime, and no critical positional weaknesses. Built to compete now and for years.

B grade (Strong): Solid roster with real upside. Typically one or two positional weaknesses or an age curve that's slightly top-heavy. Targeted trades addressing the specific weaknesses can push a B roster into A territory.

C grade (Average): A C roster is in the most dangerous spot in dynasty — not bad enough to commit to a full rebuild, but not good enough to contend consistently. The right move depends on age: young, hold and develop. Aging, consider a rebuild before the window closes.

D/F grade (Rebuild): Total value is below average, age curve is poor, or both. Path forward is accumulating picks and young players — not chasing short-term wins.

Understanding Win-Now vs Dynasty Rating

Win-Now Rating measures how competitive your starting lineup is right now — QB1/QB2 in superflex, RB1-2, WR1-3, and TE1. Old players with high current production score well here.

Dynasty Rating measures your long-term outlook. Younger players are weighted higher and aging cores penalized. A team of 28-30 year olds might rate well for win-now but poorly for dynasty.

The gap between win-now and dynasty rating tells you where you are in your team's cycle — and what you should prioritize in trades.

Age Curve Health

The age curve health score reflects how many of your players are in or approaching peak years versus past them. A roster of 22-24 year olds scores very well even with modest current values. A roster of 28-30 year olds scores poorly even with high current values.

See the Dynasty Age Calculator for detailed age curve analysis on any individual player.
